IRELAND'S LEADING seal rescue charity has issued an appeal to the public to help them care for their newborn pups.
Seal Rescue Ireland works around the clock every day of the year to care for seals which end up in their care, either through injury, sickness or, in the case of pups, being abandoned or orphaned.
The rescue service is based in Courtown, County Wexford, and often post updates on how their rescues are doing on their official Facebook page-- this time however, they have a request.
The charity have had an "influx" of seal pups into their rescue centre, and do not have enough towels in storage to use for both handling and providing soft, comfortable beds for them.
A spokesperson for the rescue took to Facebook to ask people to consider donating any old towels that are no longer being used-- along with an adorable video of one of their rescued pups.

They wrote: "Our seal pups need TOWELS!
"We are running very low on towels for the pups! If any Wexford locals have old towels that are no longer needed, we'll gladly take them! We've had a huge influx of patients, and we need lots of towels for bedding and handling of the seal pups in our care."
With Level 5 restrictions meaning people cannot cross county borders except for absolutely essential reasons, for now the charity are asking for only people in Wexford to make their donations.
If you're in Wexford and would like to help out, you can drop your old towels to the gates of the Seal Rescue Ireland centre in Courtown this Saturday, 29 November.
Call the centre number on 053 942 4980 between 12pm to 5pm and a grateful member of the team will come to greet you.
