If we are to be true followers of Christ, then we cannot skip over passages of Scripture we don’t like. If we look at a passage of Scripture and say “I don’t think that is right”, and we ignore it, then we make ourselves god and forget who we serve. This does not mean that passages of Scripture are not challenging, of course Scripture is challenging. Being difficult does not give us the right to discount it. Today’s topic is one of those difficult topics: Divorce.
When it comes to the topic of divorce, some will say that it isn’t controversial at all, then they split into two distant camps: don’t get divorced at all or get divorced whenever you want. Neither is Scriptural.
