SEAL Team Season 5 ended on a dramatic note, with the members of the Bravo team pinned down by RPG missiles in Mali.
The fate of the characters was not revealed by the end of the episode, so no doubt fans are waiting with bated breath to know what happened to them.
Having moved over to Paramount+ from CBS for its fifth season, the streaming platform has revealed its plans for the show.
Will There Be Another Season of 'SEAL Team' on Paramount+?
SEAL Team tells the story of a group of Navy SEALs, and it follows them in both their personal and professional lives as they train for, and execute, various dangerous missions.
The drama stars David Boreanaz as Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes, a.k.a. Bravo 1/1B, and he is joined by Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley and Toni Trucks in the cast.
On February 1 it was confirmed by Paramount+ that SEAL Team would return for a sixth season, Deadline reported.
The show will only have 10 episodes in its sixth season however, which makes it the shortest season of the show, preceded by Season 5's 14 episode run.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association, Paramount+'s Chief Programming Officer Tanya Giles said the show garnered "great engagement" following its move from CBS to the streaming platform.
Giles explained: "What we were able to see is great engagement and activations of subscribers coming to SEAL Team when they sign up for Paramount+, so we are really pleased with the results.
"It is one of our top performers in originals, so we know that the fan base was able to find the show and find Paramount+."
SEAL Team was the most watched original drama series on Paramount+ in 2021, per Deadline, so it makes sense the show has been renewed.
Boreanaz, who is also an executive producer and director on the show, spoke to TVLine about the explosive Season 5 finale and said it wasn't made that way in case the show wasn't renewed.
He said: "I think that it was designed purely for, 'This is what happens and could happen in a war situation.' Like, this is real.
"We didn't design it in a way that said, 'Hey, we're doing this, and that's the end of the series!' Spencer [Hudnut, SEAL Team's showrunner] wanted to go out the way he wanted to go out, for this specific moment. It shows again: Everything is good, and then bam."
The actor teased that the Season 5 finale leaves the fate of the Bravo team up in the air, as it is unclear who will survive and how injured they will all be, but the aftermath of the event will "change the fabric of them".
SEAL Team Season 5 is available to stream on Paramount+.
