Shark sightings: Dead seal washes ashore in Plymouth - Boston Herald

ragamnyakabar.blogspot.com

A dead seal that was likely bitten by a shark washed ashore in Plymouth on Wednesday, according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

The seal washed up on White Horse Beach in Plymouth.

There were “signs of shark predation,” reads the confirmed shark sighting on the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app.

“Unknown time or location of interaction,” the sighting report added of the shark/seal interaction.

Great white sharks usually attack seals along the Outer Cape during the summer months. Sharks in recent days have been spotted along the Chatham coast, where they frequently hunt for seals.

However, sharks also spend time in Cape Cod Bay, including off of Plymouth.
