Denver Broncos fans might be tempted to fill their fantasy football rosters with players from the hometown team, but that kind of strategy rarely leads to success for fantasy managers.

The Broncos have several players worth drafting in fantasy, but you shouldn’t put a premium on them and overdraft them just because they wear orange and blue. For example, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy will likely be a reliable real-life WR2 for Denver this season. Fantasy owners probably shouldn’t count on him for more than WR3 production, though.

That doesn’t mean you should completely avoid Jeudy, just don’t expect him to post top receiver numbers on a weekly basis in fantasy. Jeudy is not the Broncos’ No. 1 WR, and he shouldn’t be your No. 1 in fantasy, either.

As for which players to avoid, it’s a short list for Denver: quarterbacks Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater.

That might sound harsh, but it’s a fantasy reality. Bridgewater ranked 19th in fantasy points among QBs last season and Lock ranked 23rd. Unless you play in a two-QB league, neither Lock nor Bridgewater should be drafted.

If one of them gets hot this fall, you can put in a waiver claim, but you definitely shouldn’t go into the 2021 fantasy season with Lock or Bridgewater as your starting quarterback.
