NEW ORLEANS, La. (WLOX) - Loved ones gathered at the University Medical Center in New Orleans, as they said goodbye to Cayce Seal, the Bay St. Louis lineman who suffered an electric shock while working for Entergy in New Orleans on Wednesday.
In a Facebook post, Cayce’s girlfriend Cassie Lassabe said they gathered in the courtyard to raise the donor flag during Cayce’s surgery. She said this signifies his final act of love, kindness and giving, which she said he was known for doing.
His father Doug Seal also posted on Facebook that ‘even in death, he is still giving.’
In another Facebook post, Doug said he couldn’t be a ‘prouder father for the way Cayce live his life. He also said Cayce was a genuine true friend and person. His legacy will live on in all the kids he coached and all his friends he loved.’
Many gathered to honor Cayce, who they say was not only a lineman, but a father, friend, coach, and brother.
Family members received devastating news Friday afternoon that the injuries he suffered were worse than they thought, and that said his chance of recovering dwindled. He had more significant heart and brain damage than they originally thought following the accident.
She also said in the post ‘Cayce is preparing to give the gift of life so that he can continue to influence and impact others around him.’
Loved ones have started a meal train for the Seal family. If you’d like to donate to the Seal family, click here.
