Bostic intercepts Big Ben to seal Washington victory over Steelers originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The Washington Football Team defense had several chances to intercept Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on tipped passes throughout their Monday evening game, but it took until the end of the game for the defense to finally come through.
With just over two minutes left in the game, Montez Sweat batted his third Roethlisberger pass into the air, and linebacker Jon Bostic was in the right place at the right time to pick off the pass.
On the ensuing drive, Washington wound the clock down to 21 seconds before kicker Dustin Hopkins nailed a 45-yard field goal to extend the Football Team's lead to six.
Washington held the Steelers' last-second Hail Mary attempts for the Burgundy and Gold's third consecutive win over the season, a massive 23-17 upset over the previously unbeaten Steelers.
The victory over Pittsburgh allowed Washington to keep pace with the New York Giants for first place in the NFC East, who had an impressive victory over the Seattle Seahawks in their own right on Sunday.
