CD Projekt Red's upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 is just days away from its long-awaited release, and the game already has one fan: star Keanu Reeves, who lends his voice and likeness to Johnny Silverhand.
In a recent company earnings call, CD Projekt Red's Chairman of the Board, Adam Kiciński, answered a question regarding whether or not Reeves has gotten his hands on the game. Kiciński stated, "Yes. Yes. He played the game." He added, "But as far as I know haven't [sic] finished yet. So -- but definitely, he played the game and he loves it."
Cyberpunk 2077 was announced back in 2012 but began development in 2016 after DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had been released. CD Projekt Red originally announced a release date of April 16, 2020. However, the game was delayed to Sept. 17, then Nov. 19 and finally Dec. 10, owing to the need for further development.
The upcoming game is set in the megalopolis of Night City, a region ruled by crime lords, corporations and technology, which seemingly rules over almost every aspect of human life. Players will play as V, a fully customizeable mercenary whose voice, appearance and modifications can be altered.
Developed by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia and PC Dec. 10.
