A white shark was spotted devouring a seal off of Race Point Beach in Provincetown on Wednesday.
The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy shared a video of the unnerving encounter taken by Corey Nunes to Facebook Friday morning. The conservancy said the video serves as a good reminder October is a peak season month for white shark activity off the Cape.
“This is another good reminder that white sharks hunt in shallow waters off the Cape and, based on tagging data, we know that October is a peak season month for white shark activity off the Cape,” the Conservancy wrote.
The Conservancy’s Sharktivity app reported six white shark sightings on Thursday.
