Popie’s story: Popie is a sweet little man who had a hard life on the streets. He was in poor shape, with some dental issues, when he was found. It took a few months to get him in good enough shape for two surgeries to remove his teeth so he no longer suffered from stomatitis, an inflammation of the mouth’s mucus membranes. (You can see his journey at dreamanimalrescue.org.) Popie is a mellow senior who loves to lounge in cat trees and look out of windows. He would do best as an only cat, because he really doesn’t want to share his people. Although he’s shy at first, once he feels comfortable and safe, he’ll rub against his people and stretch out next to them when they relax, work or even sleep. He occasionally meows and makes cute little chirps and is ready for a quiet home where he can feel safe and be around his people often.
Adoption fee: $175, includes spay, vaccines, feline immunodeficiency and leukemia virus tests, worm and flea treatment, and microchip.
