Patchogue Village clerk Patti Seal started in village government as a trustee in 2004, and then was sworn in as village clerk in 2005. She received the New York State Village Clerk of the Year in 2018 out of 900 village clerks in the state, an honor chosen by her peers. “This was the best job I ever had,” she said, reminiscing of her time in service. This year, after 21 years in state service, she officially retired on Friday, June 19. During her time as clerk, she also served on the executive committee of LIVCTA as a Suffolk director, second vice president, first vice president and president. On the village level, she served as an active chair of Patchogue Village’s 125th Anniversary Committee and as a member of the Village Protecting the Environment in Patchogue Committee. She is always the master of ceremonies at the annual Fourth of July parade and the Christmas parade. She currently lives with her husband, Howard, in Patchogue Village. Together, they have one grown son who lives in California. She celebrated with friends and family at a luncheon and cocktail party at her home.
