How Lions will try to avoid IT mishaps during 2020 NFL Draft - ClutchPoints

The 2020 NFL Draft is going to present some new challenges to teams, as it will be held virtually. To avoid any technological mishaps during the draft, the Detroit Lions are going to have an interesting approach, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

On Monday, the NFL held a run-through of the draft for teams to get a good feel of what it will feel like on Thursday. While conducting the mock draft, there were multiple issues that arose — including a technological issue with the No. 1 pick.

The Lions, similar to the other 31 teams, have set up a draft war room at one of their executives’ houses. In their case, general manager Bob Quinn is going to be holding Detroit’s draft festivities at his home. Though, at the same time, Quinn is taking extra measures to make sure there aren’t any hiccups during the Lions’ draft.

Rather than having his IT guy stay at his house, Quinn is opting to have him live in an RV outside his home. Of course, that is likely due to the social-distancing guidelines that are in place in just about every state.

It’s already crazy enough that the draft is going to be held via video chat for all 32 teams. Now, the Lions are going to have one of their IT members on-hand by having him spend his nights in the driveway. Just when you think this year’s draft couldn’t be more hectic.

Amid the unusual circumstances of this year’s draft, the Lions aren’t trying to be the team that experiences technical issues. Despite the heady move by Detroit, hopefully Quinn has a fresh-brewed pot of coffee and some breakfast prepared every morning for his IT guy as a thank you.
