A man died after he lost control of his car and crashed into a pole in Seal Beach Saturday morning, Dec. 19, authorities said.
Seal Beach police were called just before 4:30 a.m. to Pacific Coast Highway and Anderson Street, near the famed Sunset Beach Water Tower, and found the driver unresponsive in the car, Sgt. Nick Nicholas said.
Investigators learned the man was driving at a high rate of speed southbound on PCH prior to losing control, Nicholas said. The vehicle made impact with a pole north of the intersection and went through it before coming to a stop. No one else was in the car and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Further information about the driver was not immediately available. It wasn’t immediately known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
